Democrat Mine is a silver and lead mine outside of Hailey. The mine consists mainly of a group of large tailing piles. There are are some metal and wood artifacts to be found. There is a gate at the base of the mining road up to the mine but I saw no “No Trespassing” signs.
Directions
This mine is located down Croy Creek Road outside of Hailey. Democrat Gulch Road is now open for the year so we were able to drive a few miles before reaching a difficult crossing and walked the rest of the way. There is a visible mining road and gate at the base of the mine.
