Mine spotting is difficult in the winter. This mine is located out west of Hailey down Bullion Gulch. The road to the mine is clearly visible even in the winter. I attempted to climb up to the mine but with the amount of snow and the considerable avalanche danger on the northern aspect, I decided to turn around. I did get a peek at an abandoned RV as well as the road that traverses the mountainside up to the mine site.
Directions
You can reach this mine by driving down Croy Creek Road west of Hailey. Turn right on Bullion Gulch road. In the winter, there is a turn out plowed and you’ll need to hike about 1.5 miles to the road. The road up to the mine winds from the western aspect to the northern aspect. There is considerable avalanche danger along the road.
